Day 91 (4/28/04) - 4Hrs:  The finish work has begun.   This evening, I applied the first coat of primer (Interlux Barrier-Kote) to the floorboards, the blade of the daggerboard, the cheeks and blade of the rudder, and the exterior of the hull.  Barrier-Kote is a two part primer that is recommended for epoxied surfaces.  Even outside with a mask, I was getting light-headed.  This stuff smells awful.

Day 92 (4/30/04) - 4Hrs:  Sanded down all primed surfaces with 150grit

Day 93 (5/1/04) - 3Hrs:  Applied a second coat of Barrier-Kote

Day 94 (5/7/04) - 6Hrs (past week):  Sanded Barrier-Kote down to 220grit.  Washed the hull with soap and water.  Applied 3 coats of Interlux Brightsides Hatteras Off-White to the hull exterior, daggerboard blade, and rudder cheeks.  Wet-sanded with 330grit and washed with soap and water between coats.

Day 95 (5/13/04) - 15 Hrs (past week):  Sanding, painting, varnishing, repeat.......  I actually had to come up with a "finishing schedule" in Excel to keep track of the number of coats on each part.

Spars being varnished and floorboards, rudder blade, and daggerboard (way in the back) being painted. Meanwhile, the hull (with finished exterior) sits baking in the driveway.  It will eventually come back in for the interior finish work (I need a double garage)
