Day 16 (3/25/03) - 2 Hrs:  Ok, now that I fixed the space problem in the Bow it was time to fix the Stern issue.  Tonight, I went back a loosened all of the wires aft of the 3rd Frame.  I then used the Block Plane to shorten and shape the end of the #2 Panels.  This was trial-and error while I gradually shaved the ends (and a lot of rewiring) until the gap was gone.  To be sure that I didn't drastically change the shape of the stern, I temporarily put the aft breasthook, skeg and rudder in place to make sure the fit was acceptable.  Although I can't be  sure, it looked ok.

Day 17 (3/28/03) - 1/2 Hr:  I now have a wired hull ready to be glued and temperatures barely hitting 60 degrees.  In an effort to keep things moving, tonight I managed to sneak back into the Family Room and glue the Mast and Sprit scarfs.

Day 18 (3/29/03) - 1 Hr:  Today, the temperature it 65.  I was tempted to start gluing the hull, but tomorrow they are saying possible snow.  Instead I spent another day in the Family Room and glued together the 2 halves of the skeg, using a "mustard" mix.  I also glued the handles to the centerboard.  I am running out of things to do!!!!

Day 19 (4/29/03) - 2 Hrs:  Yes, it has been a month since I have worked on the boat.  It was a long winter.  Tonight, it was finally warm enough to put the initial epoxy in the seams.  For the Bottom/1st panels seam I used a mixture of epoxy, silica and wood flour.  This I spread with a 2" plastic putty knife throughout the seam, but avoiding the wire.  For the other seams, a mixture of epoxy and silica was used and applied with a syringe.  I think it is still cool enough that the epoxy was a little too thick to draw into the syringe.  I had to cut the tip a bit.  It is very important to check for drips on the inside of the hull and wipe them with Denatured Alcohol (stuff will give you a real good buzz).  I have checked twice in the past hour and will check again before hitting the sack.

Day 20 (4/30/03 - 1/2 Hr:   Since some of the seam areas ran, I went back tonight and applied a thicker mixture to those areas.
